Family and Community Services workers strike – ABC New South Wales

Diane McCracken

Social workers across Newcastle and the Hunter will strike for one hour from midday today to protest against vacancy rates and a lack of resources. The state-wide walk out comes after revelations NSW is short of around 270 caseworkers.

Steve Turner from the Public Service Association says the Minister for Community Services has not been listening, and the shortages are unsustainable.
