Assistance available for members at the NSW Police Force
The Public Service Association of NSW (PSA) extends its sincere appreciation and thanks to all members of the NSW Police Force who are involved in the tragic shooting event that unfolded at Bondi Beach on Sunday afternoon.
We recognise this is a distressing and emotionally challenging time for the NSW community, the emergency services agencies, frontline responders and PSA members and staff of NSW Police Force, who are undertaking an incredible job to keep the people of our state safe.
The PSA thanks all NSW Police Force personnel for your dedication, care, professionalism, and compassion during this difficult period, from members who received the emergency calls at Police Radio and PoliceLink, to Crime Scene Officers and Examiners, to the Forensic Evidence Specialist, Technical Services and IT Specialist, and countless other Police employees, we say thank you.
We know many of you are already doing extended hours. However, we remind and encourage everyone to be mindful of their health needs and look after themselves and one another during this time. Please take rest breaks, when possible, reach out for support if you need it, and be mindful that your colleagues may be experiencing these things differently and encourage everyone to seek the assistance and support they require.
Please consider the following support providers: Peer Support Officers, Police Chaplain, The Pulse Program, EAPS and Medical Practitioners and Mental Health Specialists.
The PSA is available to attend to workplaces for welfare and industrial support in the days and weeks ahead.
For support, please contact the Member Support Centre on 1800 772 679 or contact Latu Sailosi, PSA Industrial Officer for the NSW Police Force.
