Fair Trading restructure: Industrial Relations Commission report back
On Wednesday 17 December 2025, the PSA appeared before Commissioner Muir in the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) for a scheduled report back between the PSA and Customer Service NSW regarding the Fair-Trading restructure dispute.
During the proceedings, the following information was provided:
- 89 staff have been identified as impacted by the restructure.
- Of these:
- 36 staff applied for roles as part of the restructure process.
- 53 staff did not apply for roles and are now progressing through the mobility process.
- Some of the 53 staff in mobility are seeking positions either at, above, or below their current grade.
Customer Service advised the Commission that for the 36 staff who applied for roles, it will endeavour to provide outcomes before the Christmas shutdown, where possible.
It was also confirmed that for staff in the mobility process, the eight-week mobility period will be paused:
- during the Christmas shutdown, and
- for any periods where staff are on approved leave.
The matter is listed for a further report back before the Commission on Wednesday 14 January 2026.
The PSA will continue to represent and advocate for members throughout this process and will provide further updates following the next Commission appearance.
