This afternoon, the Department lodged a dispute in the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) to prevent the planned industrial action going ahead on Thursday, 15 August 2024. This matter has been going on since 2022, the Sheriff’s Office has failed to bargain in good faith and despite the orders to the contrary the industrial action is going ahead.

The Department’s last-ditch effort defies members’ overwhelming support for this necessary action to stop Sheriff’s Officers being Undervalued, Understaffed, and Underpaid. After years of delays and broken promises, the need to send a strong message to your employer is as urgent as ever.

This is a reminder that tomorrow’s action will proceed as planned.
