MNSW Interpreter and Translators – terms of appointment

Members have approached the PSA with questions around clause 14 of the terms of appointment. Members are concerned about the scope of the surveillance referred to and the overall meaning of the clause. The PSA has raised this MNSW and we are currently awaiting a response.

MNSW has requested the forms be returned by 23 June 2024. However, many members are reluctant to consent to the terms without full disclosure of what they are signing up for. In our view, it is reasonable that MNSW provide all the necessary information prior to requesting staff consent and, as such, we recommending against signing the forms at this time if you hold any concerns. Further information will be provided to members as soon as MNSW response to the PSA.

The PSA understands that MNSW have issued clarification to interpreters and translators on 18 June 2024 around clause 14 following PSA inquiries last week.
