NSW Businesslink Industrial Bulletin - Public Service Association

NSW Businesslink Industrial Bulletin

The PSA re-appeared before the Industrial Relation Commission on Friday 23 August 2013 and provided an update to His Honour Justice Boland on the progress that had been made since our last IRC appearance on 18 July 2013.

The PSA advised that through proceedings before the IRC, two meetings were scheduled with FACS executive and these meetings occurred on Tuesday 13 August 2103.

The Association advised that whilst the meetings held on 13 August 2013 were positive actions, members still needed to know what was meant by the comments made by Deputy Director of Corporate Services for FACS, Ms Crawford, that there needs to be a “shore up” of NSW Businesslink and in order to do this a further review will need to be done.

The PSA stated before His Honour Justice Boland that NSW Businesslink members have faced enormous uncertainty in the recent past and to face another review without knowing the following facts just adds to the uncertainty about their future.

  • the scope and mechanics of the review including the terms of reference;
  • what is the end goal that FACS wishes to achieve;
  • the time frame to complete; and
  • and who will head the review.

We therefore advised His Honour Justice Boland that without knowing these key components we were hesitant to withdraw this matter. His Honour Justice Boland agreed with our hesitation and has allowed the PSA to hold this matter open until 1 December 2013.

We will inform members once the details of the review have been provided to the PSA and we will set forward in establishing consultation with members.
