NSW Police Force Departmental Committee Elections 2016- 2018 – March 2016 (PDF version)

Members are advised nominations for New South Wales Police Force (NSWPF) Departmental Committee 2016-2018 elections open September 2016.

NSWPF Departmental Committee

The Departmental Committee is a democratically elected committee of Public Service Association (PSA) members from the NSWPF electorates. Elections for the committee are held every two years in accordance with requirements defined in the PSA By Laws.

The PSA Departmental Committee meets every three months at PSA House.

The committee develops positions on issues affecting the NSWPF membership. The committee is also an advisory body to representatives to the Joint Consultative Committee and the PSA governing body, Central Council.

Under special leave award provisions, PSA Departmental Committee members are released from duty to attend these meetings, which are planned 12 months in advance at the beginning of each year.

Training for new committee delegates

The PSA will provide the newly elected committee with training. Special leave is provided for members to attend this training.

Member Support Centre

Members are reminded the PSA offers support through a number of avenues. It is always desirable to resolve workplace and individual issues at the local level. In many instances workplace delegates may provide advice and support in workplace matters.

However, if you have followed all internal NSWPF policy and procedures for resolving workplace issues without success, you should register the issue with the Member Support Centre (MSC) on 1300 772 679. Member advocates will provide advice and assistance, as required. Registering your issue with the MSC is the first step in the process of attempting to satisfactorily and fairly resolve your issue if all other attempts have failed.

Workplace visits

The PSA is visiting NSWPF work sites and will be collating feedback from members. If you would like to arrange a members’ meeting or a worksite visit, please contact PSA Organiser Nicole Rufus via the Member Support Centre.
