The objects of the Workplace Committee are:

  • To promote the interests of its members relating to their employment and to provide opportunity to discuss these matters;
  • To provide means for action in matters affecting any members or sections of members;
  • To conduct negotiations through the PSA with the local management; and
  • To generally further the interests of the membership of the PSA.

Nominations are now open for the following positions in the workplace group to represent members:

  • Maitland 1 Delegate – day shift (2 positions);
  • Maitland 1 Delegate – night shift;
  • Maitland 2 Delegate
  • Women’s Contact Officer
  • Aboriginal Contact Officer

As a workplace delegate, you may be involved in:

  • Working to the objectives of the workgroup
  • Promoting the values and advantages of union membership in your workplace;
  • Maintaining regular contact with members;
  • Recruiting new members with the aim of obtaining 100% union membership;
  • Participating in negotiations with management to advocate on behalf of members;
  • Assisting members with grievances and other issues they wish to take up with management.

All delegates to the workplace group will be given free training by the PSA in your role, as well as ongoing support from your union.

All financial members of the PSA are welcome to nominate and vote.

Please attend the meeting to cast your vote as the elections cannot go ahead without a quorum.
