Permanency: The wait is over
There is power in a union. After years of campaigning, the PSA has won secure jobs for thousands of our members in schools.
How we did it
We know too many members in schools are in insecure positions. So before the NSW state election, the PSA lobbied the NSW Government and Opposition, demanding the party leaders commit to giving long-term temporary members in schools secure ongoing roles.
Our campaigning worked. No matter who would win the election, both the Government and the Opposition had committed to end insecure roles for thousands of staff in NSW schools.
What next?
The PSA is pushing the Minns Government to offer permanency to all PSA members with three years’ continuous service with the NSW Department of Education.
Until then, members should check which phase of the current permanency rollout affects them.
