PSA update: Administration Workers and Casework Support Workers Campaign, next steps

Key Updates:

  • MOU discussions: The current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to review the function and grade distribution of employees in Administrative Worker roles across the department. The PSA is awaiting the Department of Communities and Justice to commence discussions regarding this section of the MOU.
  • Administrative Workers and Casework Support Worker role descriptions: PSA, delegates and the Departmental Committee’s Steering Committee will be holding regular member meetings to continue gathering evidence of the workload expectations and tasks completed beyond your role description. These will be your forums for updates and Q&A.
  • Collective call with MSC: A collective case has been established with the PSA Member Support Centre to capture any further issues, inquiries, or questions from DCJ Administration and Casework Support Worker members.

The PSA encourages members to Call 1800 772 679 and quote Case ID: C10015487

  • Pay and conditions: all information and advice received from our members will be considered for the upcoming PSA Work Value Campaign.

Current directions for PSA members:

  • Say NO to work outside your role description.
  • If management directs you to undertake duties outside your role description, ask for it in writing.
  • Complete the PSA‑endorsed Workload Planner to document expectations and capacity.
  • For Administrative Workers – Do NOT work beyond your contracted hours unless overtime has been formally approved.
  • Talk to your colleagues who are not yet members—encourage them to join the PSA!
  • Direct members to PSA bulletins and encourage them to attend the upcoming monthly meetings.
