PSA Win, Supervisory and Ancillary review pulled – Frontline jobs saved

The PSA has been advised by DCJ, Community Services that the current Supervisory and Ancillary review will not be progressing any further and there will be no cuts to the number of frontline staff. Common sense has prevailed.

This is a great win for our members who have been raising concerns around staffing and excessive workloads for a long time. To then be advised that frontline supervisory and ancillary roles would be cut, was a step too far.

As a direct result of the PSA’s advocacy and the hard work of the delegates involved, the department has made the right decision to reverse the planned job cuts and support you in working with families and children.

The PSA members should be proud of their work and efforts in standing together to keep these important frontline roles.

We cannot sit back and hope that there will not be any changes in the future. We need to continue to fight for more funding to support the families, children and our members working in Community Services. Child Protection involves myriad roles, be it caseworkers, managers, administrative support and project / policy officers. You union will fight to protect every role, so you can do the critically important work of protecting children and supporting the most vulnerable families in NSW.
