The consultation period for feedback on the proposal to create five new RTM positions and delete seven SCO and 1 CO positions in Sydney Radio Operations Group (ROG) has been extended by one week at the PSA’s request.

The PSA is seeking additional information from management about vacancies and recruitment. We are aware that Communication Officers and management are flat out dealing with calls for assistance arising from the current flood events. Now is not the best time to carefully consider the implications of such an important proposal.

Members in ROG are rightly proud of the important role they are playing in responding to the flood emergency. The PSA is in constant contact with your Delegates ensuring that member concerns over staffing and procedures are raised with management as quickly as possible.

Your union and Delegates will be raising demands for improved planning for staffing during emergencies with management as soon as the crisis has passed. The new end date for consultation will be 17 March 2022
