This week, the PSA wrote to the Industrial Registrar giving notice the PSA intends to make application for a variation of the Crown Employees (School Administrative and Support Staff) Award pursuant to the Equal Remuneration (Pay Equity) Principle.
This is a significant step forward by the PSA in working to secure the recognition and pay that SAS Staff deserve and is only the third case of its kind that has been brought before the Industrial Relations Commission.
The Crown Employees (School Administrative and Support Staff) Award covers the following classifications:
• Aboriginal Education Officer
• School Administrative Manager
• School Administrative Officer
• School Learning Support Officer
• School Learning Support Officer (Preschool)
• School Learning Support Officer (Sign Interpreter)
• School Learning Support Officer (Ethnic)
• School Learning Support Officer (Braille Transcriber)
The application will be prepared and filed in February and hearing dates will be allocated by the court following lodgement.
This is a great way to end the 2016 school year and heralds a very busy start to 2017.
