Stop the Bill, demand a better deal for NSW Disability Services
The NSW Government wants to rush through legislation (National Disability Insurance Scheme (NSW Enabling) Bill) to fast track privatisation of disability services in NSW.
We need your help to stop it.
No attempt has been made to consult your union before introducing the Bill before Parliament. If it’s passed it will directly affect the future of your job, your pay, your working conditions and entitlements and your future employment prospects.
Now the Government wants to force a vote.
We’re asking you to call and email the Minister, the Hon. John Ajaka, at Parliament on 9230 3640 or 9228 5263 and .
Tell him:
- It’s time the NSW Government talked to your union about the future of
disability services; - Not to proceed with the Bill in it’s current form.
The Government’s scared that the more people know about their plans to privatise disability services, the less they’ll like it, and that’s why they’re keen to rush the legislation.
All the available evidence suggests that the disability sector will need to grow significantly to cater for an increase in demand for services over the next few years.
ADHC and its highly professional staff are well positioned to meet those future challenges.
As the NDIS takes shape, NSW will need a strong public sector presence in disability services.
