Story re PSA – ADHC direction to strike

PSA

Members may have seen a story about the PSA online in the Sydney Morning Herald

I am writing to reassure you that PSA staff and I remain focused on members’ needs and also on fighting against the government’s mass privatisation agenda, job cuts, restructures, work overload and attacks on conditions such as flexible work agreements.

PSA Strike in ADHC

Late last week Family and Community Services announced a substandard transfer package for staff facing privatisation in disability services. This package was previously rejected by the PSA members in Home Care and is unacceptable to PSA members working in ADHC.

The draft plan for transitioning the services to the private sector has also been released without any consultation with the relevant unions.

That is why this morning I authorised yesterday’s recommendation by the ADHC Departmental Committee to take state wide strike action on 3 December 2015.
