The votes are in: Psychologists vote for pay rise

PSA members covered by the Crown Employees (Psychologists) Award have voted to receive an interim salary increase of 3 per cent plus superannuation from 1 July 2024. Additionally, they voted to commence intensive negotiations with the objective of reaching a consent position on new terms and conditions of employment for employees covered by the current Award.

If the parties are unable to reach a consent position it would be open to either party to pursue arbitration of a new or varied Award in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission.

The Government has committed to expeditious negotiations with the PSA regarding a new Award.

Ninety per cent of respondents to our Psychologists Survey opted to accept the 3 per cent offer and further negotiations over the three-year deal offered to most NSW Public Sector workers.

This offer will be backdated to the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2024.

The PSA will now meet with the State Government to formalise the pay increase.
