Update for school members in South Western Sydney and Georges River area
Schools bulletin – South West and Georges River area – 17 Dec 2015 (PDF version)
Season’s greetings to you all. I wish you a restful and rejuvenating holiday break. After another busy year, I am sure you will be celebrating the end of term 4.
Let go of the thoughts of:
- LMBR (yes, it is coming to a school near you after the break)
- Performance Development (PSA has advised not to participate until we sign off)
- Role of the Business Manager (not yet agreed to by the PSA)
- Local Schools Local Decisions (LSLD is possibly the biggest challenge to SAS staff job security)
- Pay equity (we’re working on it)
- Sore tummies, grazed knees, mossie bites and head bangs (and that is just the teachers)
- Payments, timetables, late notes and ice packs can all be put on hold.
Plus, all the myriad duties you perform under the guise of your Statements of Duty which appear to be boundless.
Thank you all for being so welcoming and friendly to me as I drop in for those rousing chats over the front desk. I have learned so much from you and I appreciate your open and honest discussions with me.
Thank you to the many of you who have gathered for meetings both during and after school hours, to learn about your rights and entitlements and the many benefits of joining your union, the PSA. Want to know more? Book me early for a meeting next year
In 2016, you can be sure the wheels will keep turning both with the Department of Education and the PSA. PSA members are vocal and vigilant in ensuring that you maintain your rights and conditions.
