Ministry of Health: Increase in roles within the Strategic Communications and Engagement Branch

The PSA has recently been advised of and provided information by the Ministry of Health regarding the increase in roles within the Strategic Communications and Engagement (SCE) Branch.

The restructure involves a clear increase in the number of full-time equivalent roles. This is an unusual and positive step at this time of year. Click HERE to see the SCE Branch Consultation Presentation.

Staff currently working within SCE have been briefed and are in the middle of the consultation period. Those who are members of the PSA and would like some support or to provide feedback to us, we encourage you to contact either the Ministry Delegates or the PSA Member Support Centre.

As per policy, the restructure will effectively be done over three stages. Click HERE to see the SCE Change Management Plan.

  • Stage 1 is directly appointing staff to like and matched roles. So if you’re a Graphic Designer in the current structure, you can be directly placed into a Graphic Designer role in the new structure. The Ministry has advised that this will be likely for most affected staff
  • Stage 2 is for those employees who may not have been directly placed in Stage 1. Stage 2 is an opportunity for those staff to express an interest in a suitable role in the new structure. There may be comparative assessments if there are more than one applicant for the role.
  • Stage 3 is for external advertising of unfilled roles. Any staff member will be able to apply for the vacant roles at this time as well.
