Update on your PSA pay rise, nominated transfers, temp contracts – organise a PSA meeting
Welcome back for term 4, I hope you enjoyed your break.
I will be out and about soon to come and update you on what’s been happening and how the union is supporting members in term 4.
During the school vacation PSA staff worked hard to secure a final offer from the Government for a three (3) year pay deal.
Thank you to every member who was able to vote on the pay rise, the PSA is a democratic union, member input and feedback are vital.
This pay offer was the result of many hours of negotiating both directly with the Government and through appearances at the NSW Industrial Relations Commission (IRC).
One of the reasons the PSA lodged disputes on behalf of members in the NSW IRC was to ensure that once an offer was accepted, it would be backdated to the first full pay period after 1 July 2024. Because of the PSA you will not only get this pay rise, but also the back pay all the way back to the middle of the year.
The best way to keep updated and informed is to organise a PSA meeting!
I can come out and talk to members about:
- Your pay rise – what, when and how
- Your rights to paid time for mandatory and other training
- How the nominated transfer process works
- The support available for Long Term Temporary members whose contracts are not renewed
- Business Manager overtime – when does it apply and how
- Logging incidents and how to push for a safer workplace
There are many ways we can meet;
- Book me in to speak at your regular SAS staff or network meeting
- Organise a lunch time or before / after school meeting
- For SLSOs – contact me or talk to your Head Teacher about organising a meeting time
All meetings can be held in person or via Zoom / Teams.
Reply to this email to set up your term 4 meeting with the union.
