End of year Pay
By now, you would have received your leave loading and on the 19 December 2024, you should receive your pay rise backdated to the first full pay in July.
The PSA worked hard negotiating with the department as well as appearing in the NSW Industrial Commission, and General Secretary Stewart Little personally contacted senior members of the NSW Government to ensure not only that members would receive their backpay prior to Christmas but also that it wasn’t paid in the same week as leave loading.
Post Conference
At the GA Advisory Group meeting in December, we met with the Department of Education Learning Delivery Team who were involved in organising the four conferences that were held in October. We have received very positive feedback and are already looking into improvements.
We are now working with the Learning Delivery Team around the possibility of holding conferences in regional areas in 2025.
Working Alone Risk Assessment
In the lead up to school holidays make sure you complete the ‘Working Alone Risk Assessment’ with the Principal.
Working in heat
Be sure to take breaks, wear your personal protective equipment (PPE) (supplied by the school) and keep your fluids up.

Mandatory training
There is a new revised mandatory training module called the Annual Competency Check (ACC). It will go live from Term 1 2025 and is an annual requirement. It should take one hour to complete. You can find it in MyPL.
A Message from the GAAG Chair, Bill Martin:
As the chair of the GA Advisory Group, I wish to thank our organiser, Peta Noke, and Industrial Officer, Sharny Chalmers, for all the help they have given to GAs and FAs over the past year.
I would also like to thank all the hardworking GA delegates for their efforts over the past 12 months. We have achieved great outcomes and we are looking forward to even more positive results in 2025.
