Subject: SES Funding Boost and Opportunity for Ongoing Roles

Members are likely aware that NSW State Emergency Service (SES) were given an additional $94.7 million as part of this year’s government budget allocations. This funding has allowed them to embed additional ongoing roles into their organisational structure.

  • No Permanent Employees Will Lose Their Jobs: With the exception of changes in reporting lines, none of SES’s current permanent employees will be affected by this change.
  • No Reduction in End Dates for Extended Temporary Employees: For those temporary employees whose contracts were recently extended in Elevate roles, there will be no changes to the previously agreed-upon end dates of their contracts.

Moving Forward Together:

The PSA, alongside your SES delegates, are meeting with department leadership weekly to ensure that the rights and interests of our members are front and center in all discussions related to the restructuring.

How to Provide Feedback: If you have any feedback or concerns regarding the changes outlined in the Change Management Plan (CMP), please contact member support at or call 1800 772 679. Please quote reference number 224280.
