Cultural Institutions Advisory Group: Annual General Meeting and election of group committee positions
On Tuesday 16 December 2025, the Cultural Institutions Advisory Group (CIAG) met in the Board Room at the Art Gallery of New South Wales for the Annual General Meeting.
The meeting had been scheduled on 16 December so the group could meet with The Hon. John Graham, NSW Special Minister of State and Minister for Roads, the Arts, Music, the Night-time Economy, Jobs and Tourism, and Minister for Transport but due to the horrific events at Bondi Beach on Sunday, the Minister was unable to attend.
The CIAG group used the time designated for Minister Graham to refine the conversation they will have with the Minister in the new year. Following the PSA’s Assistant General Secretary Troy Wright and Industrial Manager Julie-Ann Bond’s appearance in the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Arts held on 10 December, questions related to the budget, particularly the inequity of the distribution of the arts sector budget; the legacy the Minister would like to leave the sector with; and the consistently poor People Matter Survey results (apart from the State Library’s results!) will all be discussed in detail with Minister Graham in early 2026.
Positions for the group committee were called and elected as follows:
Joseph Campbell, Chair – Museums of History NSW
Dimity Holt, Vice Chair – Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences – Powerhouse Museum
Meg Driver, Secretary – Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences – Powerhouse Museum
James Ricupito, Assistant Secretary – Art Gallery of NSW
Sharne Fielder, Women’s Contact Officer – Art Gallery of NSW
Tess Allas, Aboriginal Officer – Australian Museum NSW
Dean Scott, Disability Officer – Museums of History NSW
Nadiye Cicek, CALD Officer – Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences – Powerhouse Museum
Trish Leen, LGBTQIA+ Officer – State Library of NSW
Cultural Institutions PSA members from across the sector, will be invited to a lunchtime online members’ drop-in session, in early 2026.
This will be an opportunity for the membership to meet the CIAG delegates and fellow CI PSA members and hear of upcoming plans for 2026.
The PSA congratulates the newly elected Group Committee and thanks all members of the CIAG for their dedication and hard work.
