As a result of concerns arising out of the NSW Ombudsman’s Report, the Commissioned Officers Vocational Branch (COVB) issues this direction to its members.

In short:

“The COVB direct, effective from 2 October 2025, all serious inmate disciplinary matters shall be referred to the NSW Police Force or to a Visiting Justice for determination.”
