It’s Time to Celebrate You: PSA Schools Recognition Week 2021

PSA Schools Recognition Week: 6-10 September 2021

Schools Recognition Week kicks off on Monday and the PSA will be promoting the wonderful work you do and encouraging the school community to recognise and thank you.

We know it has been a tough year and hope  all members have the opportunity next week, even in the midst of everything that is happening, to celebrate and to take a moment to reflect on the outstanding contribution you have made to education in NSW.

PSA Recognition Week is a tradition just for you

Recognition Week is a great PSA initiative your union organises and celebrates each year for our members and the important work you do.  In the early 2000s the PSA launched the first ever Recognition Week and it is still going strong today.

Now, 20 years later, the role of PSA members in schools has grown and changed. Along with the huge contributions of our SASS members, including School Learning Support Officers, School Admin Managers, School Admin Officers, Aboriginal Education Officers and Business Managers, we also celebrate those in other non-teaching roles in schools such as our wonderful General Assistants, School Psychologists, Student Support Officers, Community Liaison Officers and many others who all make significant contributions to the school community.

Celebrating virtually: Facebook, Zoom and at-home selfies

This year, more than ever, our members have gone above and beyond and we have written to your Principals to encourage them to plan a virtual event or activity to thank you for the work you do and your contribution to the school community. Schools should have already received a package of goodies from the PSA addressed to The Principal to promote PSA Schools Recognition Week.

Through the links below you can access a range of different resources to help you celebrate virtually. We have included a handy activity sheet with some suggestions that schools have found successful during PSA Recognition Week in the past, and a couple added due to the changed landscape we now inhabit as a result of COVID-19.
