Allegations - June 2021 (PDF version)

A large number of letters containing allegations have been sent to our members in relation to the events of 28-29 March 2021 at Goulburn Correctional Centre and South Coast Correctional Centre. Unlike the previous letters which were sent, the new letters comply with the procedural requirements under the Government Sector Employment Act and Rules.

We have asked members to send these letters to povbresponse@psa.asn.au.

We have now learned there appears to be a number of erroneously issued allegations, where the member either worked the shift, was not rostered into the alleged shift or provided a legitimate reason for not attending.

As a result of this new information, we have requested further information from Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) and have requested an extension of time to respond. We are currently awaiting CSNSW’s response.

We have also created a questionnaire, which we are asking members who have received allegations to respond to. The purpose of this survey is to gather more information about your individual response and to ensure that we have not missed important information.

We strongly encourage all members in receipt of allegations to complete this survey, which will close on Friday, 11 June 2021.
