North Coast regional training for PSA members at Transport for New South Wales
The PSA will be running regional in-person training for Transport for NSW (Roads and Maritime Services) members in the Tweed Heads, Ballina and Lismore areas on 19 March 2025.
Join your colleagues from the Regional Transport Operations Centre for a full day of training. Courses covered will be Introduction to the Union and Work Health and Safety Essentials.

Introduction to the union
This will equip participants with the basic knowledge and skills to be an active PSA CPSU NSW member. The course looks at the purpose of unions. It analyses power systems and their impact in a workplace, explains the PSA CPSU NSW structure and operations, and the benefits of membership.
Work Health and Safety Essentials
This course looks at various rights, entitlements and obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 that underpins a safe and healthy workplace. It includes how to find your way around the Act. It covers WHS duties, consultation and issue resolution using the legislation.
The course also covers the role of Health and Safety Representatives, including risk management and workplace inspections.
There will also be a brief session on role of the Delegate.
All union members are entitled to 12 days’ special leave every two years for union training.
