Outcome of PSA advocacy
Thanks to the PSA’s strong advocacy on your behalf, Rural Fire Service (RFS) management has decided to postpone any further action on the duty and on-call rosters. This decision follows the proposed changes in executive leadership over Area Operations and the RFS Commissioner’s commitment to undertake a review of current workloads undertaken by each District. This is an undertaking your Delegates advocated strongly for.
This postponement ensures the new leadership understands the seriousness of the issue, as we do, and takes the time to fully comprehend the concerns and workloads within the districts before making decisions that could affect you.
Next steps
The PSA has requested further clarification from RFS management on whether this postponement will also apply to other district working arrangements. Rest assured, we will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep you informed of any further developments.
