PSA lodges dispute over your wage rise
Your union, the PSA, today lodged a dispute with the Industrial Relations Commission over the 2024-25 pay rise.
The PSA has been forced to take this action as the Government has not agreed to our demands for a 12 per cent wage increase, plus superannuation, over three years.
On 19 May 2024, the PSA received an offer from the State Government for a 9.5 per cent pay increase, plus superannuation. This would consist of a 3.5 per cent pay increase this year, plus 3 per cent increases in both 2025 and 2026. There would also be Federal Government-mandated 0.5 per cent increases to superannuation in both 2024 and 2025. This offer coincides with the news this week of a monthly inflation rate of 4 per cent, the highest recorded in 2024.
The PSA wrote to the Government on 27 May, demanding increases in 2024, 2025 and 2026 of at least 4 per cent per year. There would also be Federal Government-mandated 0.5 per cent increases to superannuation in both 2024 and 2025.
The PSA is disappointed in the State Government’s response to our reasonable wage claim. Its offer of 9.5 per cent over three years does not match inflation and represents a real wage cut for our members who do so much for the people of NSW.
We will keep members informed as the dispute progresses.
