On a site visit recently, we were informed some workers had been on various temporary arrangements for more than 24 months without having been converted to permanency. As members will be aware, this is a breach of both the Roads and Maritime Services and Transport for NSW (TfNSW) Awards.
After making representations to the agency on their behalf, the PSA has learned these workers will be converted to permanent full-time employment as soon as possible. This is a huge win for the affected workers and a reminder of the importance of the union. All workers deserve stable, secure employment.
While we have asked TfNSW to do an audit of long-term temps in the business, we would like to know if you are aware of any workers who have been temporarily engaged in work for more than 24 months. Please email Organiser Izzy Maish at if you have any information.
