Update for members at the NSW Electoral Commission
On Monday 25 August 2025 the NSW Electoral Commission held a Town Hall meeting at the Sydney Masonic Centre to brief staff on the final organisation structure for the Commission.
PSA Senior Industrial Officer Greg Shaw was in attendance at the briefing.
The Commissioner and the executive team went through the revised 25 August organisational structure. This follows the consultation feedback period which ended 29 July.
The PSA had provided a submission following members forwarding their questions and concerns. The Commission wrote to the PSA on 12 August to address a number of questions raised at a member meeting on 21 July.
The proposed timeline for internal recruitment is:
- 1 match and confirm staff in roles by 20 September;
- 2 Senior Executive Recruitment by end December 2025;
- 3 External recruitment by 30 June 2026.
Key date new structure to be stood up by 10 November.
Outstanding questions
The PSA will be seeking further information as to the impacted positions and the number of roles deleted. Seven ongoing employees are to be impacted. The PSA seeks advice as to internal matching and as there are more roles than people should these people not be assessed for internal matching rather than referral to the Mobility Pathway? The other issue is when will the role statements be available for staff the assess their suitability for matching.
The PSA will be seeking regular meetings for ongoing consultation during the transitional period.
