Ordinarily, the PSA and other unions with the assistance of Unions NSW known as the Combined Transport Unions (CTU) would have started negotiations with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) for your Award.
Given that the election for the NSW Government is on 25 March 2023 it has been the PSA’s clear position that we should not be in negotiations with TfNSW at this time. This position has been supported by the CTU.
On behalf of members in the CTU, Unions NSW has written to the Executive Director, Business Partnering to ask that any variation to the Transport for NSW and Sydney Metro Salaries and Conditions Award 2022 and the Roads and Maritime Consolidated Salaried Award 2019 be backdated to 1 July 2023.
This means that if TfNSW delays negotiations, no worker will be disadvantaged and will instead be back paid to 1 July 2023.
The PSA will let members know how TfNSW responds to this request.
Your new PSA industrial team
Members will have been use to receiving communications and support from either Jessica Moore or Ben James over the past few years in relation to all things Transport.
Both Jessica and Ben have now moved away from the TfNSW portfolio so we have new staff allocated to support our PSA members in TfNSW.
Your new Industrial Officer, Latu Sailosi is a long-term PSA staff member with considerable experience across Communities and Justice, Education and the Environment.
Your new Organiser, Izzy Maish has been working in the PSA Member Support Centre providing frontline support to members issues across the public sector. Members are invited to contact Izzy on if they have any questions, concerns, or suggestions in the lead up to the negotiation of their Awards.
