The PSA has been advised that the Department of Education is undertaking a “realignment” to, in the words of Mark Scott, “deliver our strategic plan of improvement in every school and skills reform for a post-COVID economy”.
The Association has written to the Secretary and asked to meet to discuss these plans and to establish consultation. We have asked for a draft Change Management Plan in accordance with the Public Service Commission Agency Change Management Guidelines.
We have been advised this is not likely to result in any job losses. This was confirmed by Mr Scott who has assured your union “this restructure is focused on our executive senior service”.
However, we need to see the detail of the proposal. The PSA is anxious to ensure that none of our members are disadvantaged in this “realignment”.
We will also be seeking information on how these changes will take place.
Once we have met with Departmental officials and have more information we will contact you again. The PSA will support our members throughout this process and should you be affected do not hesitate to contact us.
Do you know someone who still needs to join the PSA?
