Half day public holiday voted down
At the December meeting of the Lismore City Council, councillors voted not to approve the normal half day public holiday that coincides with Lismore Cup Day.
This decision will have a big impact on the many PSA and CPSU NSW members who work across the Lismore Council area who normally have access to this public holiday. Public holidays are essential for workers to spend time with family, volunteer in the community or just have a break and recharge from work. For those that do have to work, it will mean the loss of penalty rates they would normally receive.
Our members have worked hard supporting the Lismore community over the past months and year through floods, drought and fires. We deserve a break.

We know that not all members get access to this local public holiday under your Award or Enterprise Agreement but still ask for your support to protect the conditions of your fellow workers.
Please share this on social media and ask your friends to sign it, too.
