It is time for PSA/CPSU NSW members to stand up for the rights of workers who catch COVID-19 while serving their communities.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet wants to scrap emergency protections that support essential workers who contract COVID-19 in their place of employment.

Previously someone who caught COVID-19 at work didn’t have to spend their recovery proving they contracted the disease in their place of employment. This is critical because we know essential workers are most likely to catch COVID-19 at work.

It’s an awful way to treat people, all to save a small amount of money.

Right now the Premier needs the support of Parliament to repeal this protection for essential workers. This is why his advisers are right now lobbying undecided MPs.

We can stop them. We need to show this critical number of MPs that popular opinion is against this harsh and heartless repeal.
