COI and TFNSW COVID RESPONSE - Public Service Association

COI and TFNSW COVID RESPONSE

Since the work bans were lifted on 17 August 2021 the PSA has been keeping TfNSW accountable to their commitments.

The PSA in consultation with your delegates developed measures that TfNSW could implement in the workplace.  On 19 August 2021 the PSA put those measures to TfNSW.  You can view those here.

Since then, the PSA and TfNSW have met to discuss these measures. As a result, we believe there is progression towards safer work practices with room for improvement.  The PSA will continue to demand TfNSW implement safe measure.   If you would like to view TfNSW subsequent written response you can view that here.

We can confirm, as was agreed TfNSW would engage with NSW Health on priority vaccinations.  There is still no definitive outcome.

The PSA understands that each site may be operating differently, and members may be concerned that the directions they are receiving pose a risk for their health and safety.

If you have a reasonable concern that the work you are carrying out will expose you to a serious and imminent risk to health and safety, you have the right to cease the work under s 84 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW).

If you wish to notify TfNSW that you will cease the relevant unsafe work practice, you will need to do so in writing.   The PSA will support you, if required, to work through the steps necessary.

Again, if you would like any assistance, you can contact your Industrial Officer or Organiser.  Their details are below.
