COVID Safe Policy: Novavax and what is happening come February if you remain unvaccinated

With the approval of Novavax in Australia TfNSW will not be taking disciplinary action against those employees who sought an exemption from vaccination because they are waiting for Novavax. TfNSW will be making contact with those employees.

As the PSA pointed out to TfNSW, members may have sought exemptions not based on waiting for Novavax but who would get vaccinated if they could use Novavax. TfNSW agreed that those employees who have sought exemptions for other reasons but would receive Novavax could advise TfNSW of this intention, and they would not proceed with disciplinary action.

The PSA encourages any member who sought an exemption for another reason, has had the exemption declined but will get Novavax to contact their HR Business Partner to advise them of your position.

Unvaccinated: When Will Disciplinary Action Commence

The deadline to comply with TfNSW COVIDSafe Policy was 7 February 2022, if non – compliance continued from 7 February, 2022 TfNSW would likely proceed with disciplinary action.

TfNSW has advised the PSA disciplinary action will be on hold from 7 February 2022. The disciplinary action will remain on hold pending a decision from the Fair Work Commission about a dispute in Sydney Trains.
