Establishment of the Parramatta Square PSA Workplace Group

Since the beginning of 2023 the PSA has been holding monthly meetings at Parramatta Square (PSQ). At those meetings members made it clear that they are keen to establish a PSQ workplace group to represent the interests of PSA members across all agencies located at 4 and 6 PSQ.

Due to the large number of members located at PSQ, and the diversity of agencies, nominations are called for from the following electorates:

Thinking about nominating for a position?

By volunteering a little of your time, you can help contribute to building a strong PSA presence at PSQ. By doing this you will learn more about unionism,  the PSA, workplace rights and how they are created and protected. You can contribute to building a strong PSA You will also meet new colleagues and help make improvements to the working lives of public servants across Parramatta Square.

Note that PSA delegate training will be made available to all elected delegates to the WPG in June.

Nominations and closing date

Each nomination must be seconded by two other members in the same electorate as the nominee.

Nominees and their seconders must be financial members of the Association as of 11 April 2023.

Nominations must be submitted via the following Survey Monkey link:

Nominations close at 5pm on Wednesday 17 May 2023.

If there are more nominations than positions there will be a ballot. In the event that that happens candidates who wish to have a profile available for voters to read should provide a brief statement of 200 words or less stating how they will best represent members’ interests. Space is provided for this purpose on the form available through Survey Monkey.

Inaugural Annual General Meeting of the Parramatta Workplace Group to be held in June.

The inaugural Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 6 June at PSQ where nominations for the following positions will be called for from the delegates elected from the electorates above and voted on:

Chair, who will preside over meetings of the Workplace Group.

Vice‐Chair, who will deputise for the Chair.

Secretary, who will keep the minutes of all meetings of the WPG.

Assistant Secretary, who will assist and deputise for the Secretary.

Women’s Officer, who will promote the interests of women members of the WPG.

Indigenous Officer who will promote the interests of Indigenous members of the WPG.

LGBTIGIA+ Officer who will promote the interests of LGBTIGIA+ members of the WPG.

Disability Officer who will promote the interests of members who have a disability of the WPG.
