Guess what the results were!
Guess what the results were! – July 2018 (PDF version)
Thank you to the many many members who filled out the Schools Need Us survey before the end of term. The results of this survey will form the basis of what we campaign on in schools over the next year. Member feedback is invaluable and we thank you for taking the time to send yours in.
So…what did you tell us?
For all classifications job satisfaction was by far the most important thing to you, by a long, long way.
Your pay, conditions, access to appropriate training and being in secure and permanent employment are all things that contribute to job satisfaction. Being in secure work means you can focus on what you really care about – doing a good job and working with your school community to ensure you are the best.
We know you have all been under increasing pressure with the Department rolling out new initiatives and programs over the last few years. This has led to serious workload issues for many. The PSA will continue to work to help you and to raise issues with department so that you can be better supported at work.
Missed the last bulletin about these issues? Check it out HERE.
So what’s next? Coming to a school near you…
Your newly elected Departmental Committee Delegates will be meeting in mid-August and will be working with the PSA to roll out the campaign right across the state.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Schools Need Us logo as we fight for permanency, training and support and equal pay for SAS staff.
Enjoying your PSA pay rise?
Your PSA won pay rise of 2.5% was applied to the first full pay period after 1 July. You only receive your yearly pay rise because the PSA fights for it in the Industrial Relations Commission on your behalf. The union puts a lot of resources and money into winning this case for you each year and it can only be won because of members. The more members we have the more we can do to support you in the workplace and fight for the conditions and pay you deserve. Talk to your colleagues about joining today, it’s easy using the link HERE.
SAS Recognition Week 3 – 9 September….celebrate with the PSA
You will all soon be receiving your PSA packages for recognition week. Recognition week is a union initiative that encourages schools to recognise and celebrate the contributions of SAS staff. This is a great opportunity for the school community to thank you for all you do.
Having a PSA SAS Recognition Week event at your school? Let us know and take photos so we can promote you and the work you do as well.
