Mandatory COVID-19 testing: What is Transport for NSW doing?

The PSA contacted and met with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) on Thursday regarding arrangements for members who will be required to undertake mandatory COVID-19 testing under Public Health (COVID-19 Temporary Movement and Gathering Restrictions) Amendment (No 6) Order 2021 in order to be allowed to enter their workplace.

At this stage TfNSW is working with the NSW Government to ensure testing facilities will be available for employees who are required to undertake the mandatory tests.

TfNSW is still working through the impacts this will have on employees, such as whose time testing will take place on and what will occur if employees are unable to access testing facilities. The PSA’s position is that staff should have access to special leave or considered to be on duty.

The PSA is meeting with TfNSW this afternoon (Friday, 16 July 2021) to obtain an update.

We will continue to keep members updated.

If you are unsure if you are one of those employees required to undertake the mandatory testing, please click HERE for a PSA bulletin that outlines the details of the health order.
