Multicultural NSW wants to change your pay, PSA pushes for Interpreter/Translator roadshow

Multicultural NSW wants to change your pay, PSA pushes for Interpreter Translator roadshow - July 2020 (pdf version)

The Public Service Association of NSW (PSA) is the only union covering all workers at Multicultural NSW including interpreters and translators. We recently contacted you to invite you to join us.

We contacted you because Multicultural NSW has advised the PSA that they want to change your pay and workplace conditions by changing your award. You can read our previous communication HERE

The PSA is one of the oldest and strongest unions in NSW and has a proven track record negotiating workplace conditions that support public sector workers for over 120 years.

We have called on Multicultural NSW to present a Roadshow to tell you about the changes they want to make to your award

In correspondence to Multicultural NSW, the PSA called on your employer to do the right thing and organise roadshow presentations to inform you about the changes they are proposing and why.

It is the responsibility of all employers to communicate broadly, clearly and regularly with their staff about any changes to their working conditions.

For this reason, the PSA has called on Multicultural NSW to organise a Roadshow, so all interpreters and translators can be informed about the proposed changes and will have the opportunity to ask questions about the impacts.

Why does joining the PSA matter? Together we can get better outcomes for everyone.

Multicultural NSW contacted the PSA to discuss changing your pay and workplace conditions in your award.

The PSA is working hard to protect our members’ hard won conditions in the award from any negative changes that Multicultural NSW intends – but we need you to help us do it.

We encourage all interpreters and translators to join the PSA. Only as a member can you know you have the strength of your union behind you, in these negotiations around pay and conditions.

It’s easy to join online or you can download and print our joining form HERE

You can also read about our Member Benefits to see what additional services and discounts we offer.

Your fees are 100% tax deductable and are on a sliding scale based on your average income from Multicultural NSW.
