PSA Timeline: 1960 – 1969
| Year | Information |
| 1969 | The Federal Equal Pay Case establishes the principle of equal pay for equal work. |
| 1967 | A report, Sexism in Education, finds an over-representation of women in temporary roles. Seventy per cent of the 12,000 women in the Professional, General and Clerical Division of the NSW Public Service were employed under insecure conditions. |
| 1961 | Submissions were made to the Public Service Board for the removal of barring married women from permanent public service positions. Although unsuccessful, the 1960s saw the PSA become highly active in women’s rights in the workplace. Equal pay, and permanency for married women were fought for all through the 1960s. Both rights were only granted after many years of union organising. |
| 1960 | PSA membership reaches 19,453 |
