PSA Schedules Urgent Meeting with RFS over Changes to District Duty / On-Call Rosters

The PSA recently became aware of an alleged instruction from the NSW RFS Executive to all Area Commanders, mandating a change to the Duty/On-Call Rosters across all Area Commands and associated Districts.

This instruction purportedly directs the removal of all members not receiving the Annualised Conditions Allowance (ACA) from the Duty/On-Call Roster. It was also reported that the instruction gave Area Commanders four weeks to implement the change. If implemented, this would reduce the number of staff performing these duties in each District to no more than four, significantly increasing their Duty and On-Call days.

Upon inquiry, the RFS informed the PSA that this instruction was not true.

The PSA has sought an urgent meeting to discuss this issue which will be held today 21 June 2024.

Thank you to the members who have raised this issue with the PSA delegates and through the Member Support Centre.

The PSA will keep members informed as discussions progress, stay tuned for further updates and thank you for your continued support.
