Restructure update
Your union and delegates met with SafeWork management on 5 December 2024 to continue discussions around the organisation’s restructure.
We were advised the structure is settling down although more work is being done in relation to both Team Coordinator (TC) and Regulatory Service Officer (RSO) roles. There will be an all-staff meeting on 10 December 2024 at which further updates will be provided.
TC roles
SafeWork is not recruiting for the TC roles until next year. The PSA asked about Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to back fill until then. Management was unable to answer at this time. We were advised that Directors have not yet responded to requests for their requirements. There are still seven TC vacancies. The PSA queried whether impacted staff can be offered the TC role at Stage 2, even though it’s at a lower grade. Again, management was not in a position to respond and committed to coming back to us on this in the coming days.
RSOs
PSA raised concerns about lack of training and limited access to information. We had requested an offline meeting and this has now been set for 9 December 2024. It has been requested that RSOs put all and any issues into the issues spreadsheet so management can be aware of what concerns are coming up.
EOIs
A lot of EOIs came out very recently. Management advised it is trying to fill as many gaps as possible as quickly as possible. The PSA requested that management ensure staff are advised when this happens.
