TfNSW Agrees to Conduct Audit of Temporary Employees Engaged For Over 24 Months

On 28 May 2024, the PSA took TfNSW to the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) regarding its repeated failure to comply with its obligations under the RMS and TfNSW Awards to convert temporary employees to permanency after 24 months (conditional on some subclauses).

TfNSW has agreed to work towards a 1 August 2024 deadline to identify and convert all eligible employees. If you are a temporary TfNSW Award employee and have been in the same role for 24 months or more and have worked on more than one project (or, BAU), and you haven’t been converted by 1 August, please contact the PSA on 1800 772 679. Similarly, if you’re a temporary RMS Award worker, please contact the Union if you have been in the same role for more than 24 months, regardless of the number of projects you’ve worked on.

The PSA will meet with TfNSW in July to discuss its progress in the audit, we will update members afterwards.

We’d like to thank the members and delegates who brought this issue to our attention.
