Thanks to State Emergency Service members for dedicated public service!
The Public Service Association would sincerely like to thank the State Emergency Service (SES) members on duty over the weekend for their hard work in extreme conditions. Rainfall reached 242 millimeters (mm) over 24 hours at Woy Woy and 264 at Pittwater, and 74 mm over just 2 hours at Wisemans Ferry. There were evacuations, rescues from cars caught in flash-flooding, landslides, fallen trees, downed powerlines, damaged roofs, blocked drains and household inundations. The SES responded to 2300 incidents across the state with a thousand volunteers assisting, especially in the Hunter, Sydney, the Illawarra and South Coast.
If the weekend created any industrial issues with which you require assistance, please contact the PSA on 1800 772 679 or your delegates, as listed below.
Thanks again SES for the outstanding and sometimes dangerous work you undertake on behalf of the people of NSW
