The PSA has been made aware that the draft Department Customer Service (DCS) Prevention of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Policy has been released for consultation across the Department. Consultation closes 31 January 2024.

The DCS policy is being released under a Direction that was issued by the NSW Public Service Commissioner (PSC) in 2023 that required all NSW public sector agencies to have a policy in place to address workplace sexual harassment by 1 March 2024.  DCS, along with other NSW government agencies and subject matter experts such as SafeWork NSW and Anti-Discrimination NSW, has been a part of the PSC Respect at Work taskforce, which has written a Model Policy which the Department are proposing to adopt with small modifications relevant to DCS
