icare Return to Office - Public Service Association

icare Return to Office

The PSA met with icare to discuss the Gather Together Guidelines and the requirement to return to the office on average three days per week.

PSA Delegates raised the following issues with accommodation.

  1. Storage in Gosford office, no lockers, the pedestal drawers are not lockable.
  2. Work Health and Safety (WHS) concerns with staff carrying their laptop and belongings three days a week.
  3. Office space issues in regional offices
  4. The female toilets in Parramatta office

icare will raise accommodation issues with facilities and will come back to PSA delegates with solutions. If members can provide any further details of the issues they wish to raise.

The PSA also raised the issue that the people leaders seem to have lost their autonomy in having flexible work arrangements with their team members, with the new mandate coming into effect that all arrangements will need to go to General Manager.

icare confirmed that people who have current flexible arrangements will not need to go through the process again. Their agreement will remain in place.

  • People with disability, medical condition or personal matters will not be required to explain their personal matters to General Manager. They can simply put in their request “As discussed with Leader” with minimal information about their personal circumstances.

icare would like to keep the flexibility for staff and stated that the flexibility will need to be discussed with the leader in the first instance as there is no one size fits all.

Please send any concerns you would like to the delegates to raise at the next meeting, which will be held in a few weeks. icare will update the Gather Together FAQ with the above information, which will provide members with something to refer to when having conversations with their leaders or the General Manager.

Your icare delegates are:

  • Maryam Freemen
  • Rosemarry Birt
  • Geraldine Waters
  • Lachlan Cotterill
