Joint Consultative Committee update: consultation and mental health

Consultation and Mental Health - Oct 2020 (PDF version)

On Thursday 15 October the PSA and your local delegates met with the Office of Local Government to discuss issues of ongoing concern.

The PSA has requested all current and proposed organisational charts be provided. The PSA has also been made aware of the deletion of certain roles that have since been re-evaluated at a lower grade. This occurred without consultation with the union and we have requested that the driving principles behind these organisational changes are provided. The PSA would like to hear from the membership if you have any input on the above, specifically relating to organisational change and shifting roles.

A major point of concern for your union is the mental health and wellbeing of our members working in OLG. We have heard from many of you regarding the difficulties and hazards in your current work environment. As such, we will be releasing an anonymous survey for our OLG members to complete, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing in the OLG space.

This has been an exceptionally difficult year for all of our members and the PSA will continue to be there for you as we move into 2021. If you are experiencing difficulties, please speak to your doctor and seek assistance. No-one needs to fight alone, and your union will always have your back.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your PSA Organiser Chris Bird at .
