Member win: Contractors no longer allowed to use TfNSW branding on vehicles
Thanks to the advocacy of our members, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has announced external contractors will no longer be allowed to use the TfNSW branding on their vehicles.
Contractors such as Ventia, Fulton Hogan and Tyco were using TfNSW branding while carrying out maintenance works on the network. This was inappropriate for several reasons; namely, that TfNSW employees were left vulnerable to being blamed for contractor misconduct as well as the obvious problem with private companies posing as NSW Government employees.
TfNSW has written to the PSA to report that in light of these concerns being raised, the business will change the branding on contractor vehicles to clearly identify the vehicle owner. For example, ‘(CONTRACTOR NAME) in partnership with NSW Government’. TfNSW has not yet given a timeframe for these changes, but we will monitor to make sure that changes are implemented in a timely manner.
We also invite members and potential members to join our members’ meeting next Monday 9 October at 12:30pm, register HERE.
