PSA/CPSU:  protecting your conditions in the federal system

The PSA/CPSU will continue to represent your interests with The Benevolent Society through the transition and beyond. Your PSA/CPSU-negotiated Award, which contains your conditions, the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) reviewed Award 2009, will transfer with you.

What’s the difference between PSA and CPSU?

The CPSU is the federal counterpart of the PSA. The only thing that will change when you transfer to TBS is that bulletins and communications will have the CPSU branding. You do not have to do anything to change your membership, this will happen automatically and you will have the same experienced industrial staff supporting you in your new workplace.

The conditions in your award have been negotiated by the PSA over many years and will remain in place once your employment has moved to the Federal (Fair Work) system. If you experience any issues relating to your conditions your union, the PSA/CPSU, can represent you as the sole union party to your Award.
